Makassar 'ebony' Tippers
Makassar 'Ebony' is one of the hardest, heaviest and costliest types of wood in the world. The unique qualities of this special wood make Markassar a perfect material for the production of Tippers. These high-quality tippers are supplied with an elastic, waxed surface.
Please note: Makassar is not Ebony. Real Ebony would be without the nice lighter strips which can be seen on the Makassar. But it is very common to say 'Ebony' to Makassar. So that is the reason why I write Makassar 'Ebony'. It´s just good to know that these are two different woods !

For precise playing and brilliant-clear sound.
The special shape of this tipper with the balance point at ap. 3/5 makes it a universal tipper for modern playing styles. The slightly weighted head of the tipper gives a well-controlled feeling for slow and sensilbe playing, but because of the length and the carefully weighted/balanced design it makes it also very easy to play very fast and precise.
The conical grip gives a kind of self-locking effect for the tipper hand (fingers) and makes your playing more relaxed and easier.
The choice of wood for this special tipper is very important. We only use extremly homogenious wood pieces with a straight wood grain and a uniform microstructure. After the rough cut the wood dries for another few weeks in well-conditioned environment. Of course we only use well-seasoned wood for all of our tippers but the special shape of this tipper claims a even more extensive producion procedure and more expertise and experience in woodworking.
